One Little Word - January Review

So it turns out that people are finding my blog and reading it so I thought I should do an update on my One Little Word progress.

I really enjoyed working through the January prompts, especially once I had changed my word from "Believe" to "Live". I'm so happy I made the change because I definitely want to invite Live into my life as I really do want to LIVE this year and every year that follows. It has also been interesting to note how I am already living, what I am afraid of, and what I am looking forward to over the next 11 months. I'm also glad that I took the time to really think about these things and didn't race through them (not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just wasn't right for me).

You've already seen my cover page but here it is again along with the blog post before this one about my OLW (apologies for the glare, I took these photos at 9:30pm!).

For the second page I have followed Ali's layout by cutting down one of the pocket pages to show only 6 pockets instead of 9. The bottom right pocket on the front of the page is blank/empty on purpose. For the whole month I couldn't figure out what to put there. At first I was going to put another selfie, then I was going to put a wedding photo of myself and my husband, then I was going to wait until I got the kit and put something there but nothing really seemed to fit. Yesterday I decided to leave it empty so I could put a selfie there at the end of the year. I'm hoping to see some kind of change between then and now but of course if another photo presents that fits then I will consider putting it in instead.

The other side of that pocket page has a photo of myself with our pound puppy, Lexi, and a photo of my husband with Lexi as well. The quote image came from pinterest and the card above it is a Maggie Holmes rub-on transfer. The typing on both the definition and let go cards was done in MS Word using a font called "Splendid 66".

Next up is the page with more prompts and the intentions page. I've decorated these simply because I felt like they needed something and purple stamps and highlighting was just the thing. The butterfly stamp and shooting star stamp are from Typo, and I think the Shine stamp is a Studio Calico one but I could be wrong.

Well that is January done and dusted and I'm quite proud of how it's turned out so far. I have read over these prompts so often already and I can imagine how often I am going to read over them in the future.

We received the prompt for February today and have been told it includes a vision board which I have always wanted to create but never actually sat down and spent the time to do so. I have a whole bunch of interior design magazines (I'm currently studying interior design and decoration) so I can't wait to get stuck into them and see what I can come up with. Stay tuned because you know I'll be sharing on the blog!
